iPhone 2.1 Software will have NAVIGATIONAL GPS
Apple are currently working on the latest 2.1 software update for the iPhone, making improvements to the iPhone's GPS System.
Developers who have been given a beta version of 2.1 have noted that it updates the GPS system to show cardinal direction (compass direction - N-S-E-W), and velocity - two essential components that form a directional GPS system.
This is great news for new and existing iPhone users, who will find the 2.1 update to be a welcome addition. At this stage, the 3G iPhone only shows location on google maps, with no directional features such as the one's you'd find on a NAVMAN unit in your car. The new update brings the iPhone close to being a true, and practical Navigation device.
