iPhone 5 Conceptualization
Apple is known for stirring a huge buzz when a major release is underway. The tech giant is doing it again.
This time, the web is abuzz with speculations, gossips, and predictions about the new iPhone 5.
Nothing is certain though because Apple is keeping a tight-lipped policy about the issue.
However, this did not stop tech enthusiasts from speculating about the release date and the so-called probable specs of the fifth generation iPhone model.
The buzz on Apple is mainly focused on the date of release of the new iPhone. Different sources provide different release dates. The variety of information available on the web further fueled more speculations in the market.
A Wall Street Journal article, citing insider sources, broke the news that a new iPhone is in the works. This started a huge online buzz and much excitement from Apple fans. The popular perception is that Apple may release the latest smartphone by June or July this year. This has become a safe bet because Apple normally releases new models during these months.
However, other news site asserted that the gadget may be released on September 2011 or early 2012. All these are pure speculations though because Apple is not confirming nor denying any of the report. Obviously, the company is playing with the online buzz about its new smartphone to generate more interest and free publicity.
Apart from the rumors about the release dates, the grapevine is also rife with speculations about the possible specs of the latest Apple smartphone. Online tech bulletin boards and community forums are being deluged with questions from iPhone fans. It is often said that the new gadget will be focusing more on form factor, processor speed, and better built-in functionality.
In terms of size and dimension, the new iPhone is said to be thinner and more compact than the previous models. The looks and styling of the gadget maybe retained in order to keep Apple’s signature aesthetics.
The speed of the new model could get a boost if Apple will equip it with an A5 dual core processor. This is the same processor used in iPad 2. Such upgrade will make the next generation smartphone faster and more powerful.
There are also speculations that the new iPhone 5 may use the dual mode Qualcomm chips. This upgrade will enable the new gadget to connect using GSM and CDMA networks. The Qualcomm baseband chips are already installed on iPhone 4. Unfortunately, this model does not support GSM capabilities. By using the latest Qualcomm chip technology, the next smartphone of Apple may be able utilize the networks on the 4G LTE.
Lastly, there are also a lot of buzz surrounding the new built-in features of the mythical iPhone 5. It is believed that Apple will equip the new gadget with face recognition security feature. It will also probably have a built-in turn-by-turn GPS guidance capability to do away with unwieldy GPS apps.
Although the new iPhone 5 will be released in September, you can still read a lot of information about it from CNet.
